The Institute was established in 1935 as the first non official centre in India for biomedical research and was included within the aegis of CSIR in 1956. CSIR-IICB today is engaged in research on diseases of national importance and biological problems of global interest, employing sophisticated state-of-the-art technology in keeping with the rapid and unprecedented momentum that life science research has gained globally over the last 50 years. The scientific staff has expertise in a variety of areas including chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, neurobiology and immunology which promotes productive interdisciplinary interaction.

Essential Qualification :
Technical Assistant : First Class Diploma in Electrical / Geology / Mechanical / Mining Engineering from a recognised University/Institute of at least 3 years full time duration or at least 2 years full time duration in case of lateral admission in Diploma courses or its equivalent with 02 years experience in the relevant area from a recognized Institution/Organisation.
Technical Officer : BE / B.Tech or equivalent in Chemical / Civil / Computer Science / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Environmental / Material Science / Mechanical / Mining / Electrical Engineering with 55% marks from a recognized Institute / University.
Upper Age Limits :
Not exceeding 28 years for Technical Assistant and 30 years for Technical Officer as on 27/07/2018, (Relaxation available as per GOI Rules).
Mode of Selection :
The prescribed Essential Qualifications are a bare minimum and mere possession of the same will not entitle the candidates to be called for Interview. The Screening committee will adopt its own criteria to shortlist the candidates for Interview. The candidates should, therefore, furnish in the relevant field column all the qualifications and experience that they have acquired over and above the minimum prescribed qualifications.
