For the first time, the subsidy on LPG cylinders was zero
New Delhi: Amid the Corona crisis in the country, there is good news for people with LPG cylinders. The government is getting LPG at a much cheaper price due to the continuous fall in crude oil and gas prices in the international market. Because of this, the government no longer has to spend on subsidies to consumers in the domestic market. This literally means that the subsidy on LPG cylinders has now reached zero.
The government has to pay Rs. Earnings of 120
Now that the subsidy has come to zero, the government has been raising the prices of gas-subsidized cylinders for local consumers for the past few months. The subsidy has come down to almost zero as a result of cheaper gas in the international market and lower prices in the domestic market. On the contrary, now the government has to pay Rs. 120 is being earned. The Central Government launched the Direct Benefit Transfer DBT Scheme from January, 2015. Under which the consumer had to pay the full cost of LPG cylinders and the government credited their subsidy directly to his accounts.
