- 1 team from Gujarat will also take part
- Rajiv Shukla became the new vice chairman of the board
A big decision has been taken in the meeting of BCCI AGM held in Ahmedabad. Now 2 teams will join IPL. Estimates have been made for the last few days but today it has been sealed at the BCCI's annual meeting. But the 2 new teams will be part of the IPL in 2022 and not in 2021. At the same time, another big decision has been taken in the meeting. All first-class cricketers will be compensated because of Corona. This compensation will be given to both male and female classes.
There will be 10 teams in IPL from 2022
However, 10 teams will participate in IPL 2022. Will be implemented from 2022 instead of next season (2021). The most important issue in the meeting held in Ahmedabad on Thursday was the inclusion of a new IPL franchise. The 10-team IPL will feature 94 matches that will take about two and a half months, which could ruin the international cricket calendar.
Ahmedabad may have a new team
Gujarat will be one of the two new teams to be added to the IPL. Importantly, the team could be from Ahmedabad, which the Adani Group has shown interest in the franchise. The Goenka Group has also shown interest in another team. The Gujarat team will make the newly constructed Motera Stadium their home ground.
