According to news agency ANI, lockdowns have been announced in 11 hotspots in Thane from March 13 to March 31. The decision comes amid a spate of corona cases in the area over the past few days.
According to the Maharashtra Health Department, Vidarbha, Pune and Mumbai have witnessed more than one lakh cases in just 13 days due to rapid new cases. The number of Koro infections in Maharashtra has reached 22,08,586.
Earlier, the decision to impose a partial lockdown in Aurangabad was taken by the local body. From March 11 to April 4, all public events in the city have been banned. Not only that, during these days no wedding ceremony will be held in any hall in the city. According to local authorities, anyone whose marriage has already been decided will have to register marriage.Besides, the system has also decided to close swimming pools, sports complexes and APMCs in the meantime. While there will be a complete lockdown on Saturday and Sunday.
