It should be mentioned that these exports took place at a time when there was a shortage of oxygen in the country and India was ranked third in the world in terms of Corona transition.At the same time, India exported 4,514 metric tonnes of oxygen between 2019-20. In January 2020, 352 metric tons of oxygen was exported, but in January 2021, the export of oxygen increased to 734 metric tons. In December 2020, 2,193 metric tons of oxygen were exported. In December 2019, 538 metric tons of oxygen were exported.
The government denounced oxygen exports
However, government sources have issued a statement on the export of oxygen and said that there is an unfortunate misrepresentation in the country that India has exported rare medical oxygen during 2020-21. This is wrong, only industrial oxygen has been exported. The government said 9,884 metric tonnes of industrial oxygen was exported from April 2020 to February 2021. While only 12 metric tons of medical oxygen was exported.
