Every year thousands of students from Rajkot, Saurashtra and Gujarat go abroad to study and most of the students are going to countries including UK, USA, Canada in July.Certificates obtained after taking two doses of co-vaccine are no longer valid in these countries as the vaccine manufactured by India Biotech-Hyderabad has not yet been approved by the World Health Organization. The second dose of this vaccine can be taken in four to six weeks but students are avoiding taking it as it is not recognized abroad.
Students from Gujarat going abroad for study will be given priority in Kavid vaccination. Chief Minister Rupani said that many students from Gujarat are going abroad for study in the coming months. Students will be given special priority in vaccination so that they do not face any hindrance in traveling abroad.Responsibility for this has been handed over to the District Collectors and Municipal Commissioners in the municipal areas across the state. CM Rupani said that the state government has taken this decision in the interest of the students.

Students from the district who are going abroad for study in the coming months will have to contact the Collector in person with their I-20 form or DS-160 form or the confirmation letter of admission of that university or college from abroad to get the vaccine on priority basis.
Students living in Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Gandhinagar municipal areas will have to contact the Municipal Commissioner with these letters.
Students living in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation area will have to contact the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (West Zone) of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
The state government has made adequate preparations to ensure that students going abroad for study do not face any problem due to vaccination. Such students will be vaccinated on a priority basis across the state.
