VTV Special / EXCLUSIVE: Corona patients would not have been robbed in a private hospital if it was a gift from the Gujarat government.

VTV Special / EXCLUSIVE: Corona patients would not have been robbed in a private hospital if it was a gift from the Gujarat government.

In the second wave of Corona, the medical infrastructure of Gujarat came to a standstill. Research on why patients had to endure so much in such a difficult time and why millions had to pay bills in private hospitals found that private hospitals in the state are 15 times more than government hospitals and the number of government beds is alarmingly low.

The year 2014, the year in the history of India that set a record in India. For the first time, a non-Congress party formed a government with an absolute majority. However, this victory was neither of the BJP nor of Prime Minister Modi, this was the victory of the 'Gujarat Model'. The same Gujarat model that the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi played in the Lok Sabha elections. However, the Gujarat model that brought the BJP to power with record seats collapsed like a palace of cards in the battle against Korona.

Why did Gujarat's health system flop in Corona? Did all this happen suddenly? Why 'Gujarat Model' could not become 'Health Model'? To know the answers to the above questions, it is necessary to understand both the pre-Corona state of Gujarat and the Corona time state.

There was no pal before the water

If we look at the condition of government hospitals in some states of India till January 1, 2020, the day before the day Corona appeared in China, we will realize how much the Gujarat model depended on the private sector in the field of health.

(Note: * The number of beds in the states is up to the year 2017. The number of beds in these states is likely to be even higher than what is written here in 2019)

The above figures are from before the introduction of Corona virus in India. It can be clearly seen that even before the advent of Corona, Gujarat's public health sector was far behind. Most of it was privatized here. That is why Gujarat had only 63 beds more than a backward state like Bihar.

Having 5 hospital beds for every 1000 citizens is a sign of a good health system

According to WHO, having 5 hospital beds for every 1000 citizens is a sign of a good health system. Unfortunately, even before the epidemic, there was a situation in Gujarat where only 0.45 government beds were available for every 1000 citizens of the state. In other words, even half a bed was not available among every thousand citizens in Gujarat. It is not known whether the healthcare system was developed in Gujarat as per the guidelines of WHO.

What was the situation like in the second wave?

In the affidavit filed by the Gujarat government in the High Court, important figures related to Kovid Hospital and beds have been given. There are a total of 1203 Dedicated Covid Hospitals (DCHs) across the state as of May 1, according to the data. These hospitals have a total of 63026 beds. This bed figure does not include Dedicated Covid Health Center (DCHC) and Covid Care Center (CCC) beds.

Double the number of private bods against the government

There are more than 63 thousand beds in a total of 1203 hospitals in the state. Of these, 73 hospitals are government and 1130 are private. Thus the number of private hospitals is 15 times more than the government hospitals in the state.

No death due to lack of oxygen in epidemic / second wave of corona in the country: Modi govt's reply in Rajya Sabha.

The Center informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that there were no deaths during the second wave of Kovid, especially in the states and Union Territories due to lack of oxygen.

In the Rajya Sabha, Congress MP KV Venugopal sought information

Minister of State for Health Bharti Praveen Pawar replied

Not a single person died from lack of oxygen.

The Minister of State for Health in the Rajya Sabha said this in response to questions

In the Rajya Sabha, Congress MP KV Venugopal raised a question as to whether a large number of Kovid patients died on the roads and in hospitals due to severe lack of oxygen in the second wave. "Health is a state issue," said Bharti Praveen Pawar. According to him, all the states / UTs report case and death statistics to the Union Ministry of Health on a regular basis. But no deaths were reported. Oxygen deficiency has not been specifically notified by the States and Union Territories. In view of the rapid increase in cases during April-May 2021, several steps have been taken, including the provision of medical oxygen and other consumables, to determine the clinical supervision of Kovid patients.

The demand for oxygen tripled compared to the first wave

Dr. Pawar highlighted that during the second wave, the demand for medical oxygen in the country reached around 9000 metric tonnes (MD) as compared to 3095 metric tonnes during the first wave. He said that contract arrangements have been made between the hospital and the medical oxygen supplier regarding the supply of medical oxygen in the hospitals. But during the second wave, due to the unprecedented growth in demand for medical oxygen, the demand in the country reached almost 9000 metric tons.

During the first wave, the central government had to take steps to facilitate equal distribution to the states as compared to 3095 metric tonnes. A dynamic and transparent structure for the allocation of medical oxygen and suppliers of swimming oxygen etc. were prepared for the allocation of medical oxygen in consultation with the States and Union Territories and all stakeholders such as concerned Ministries, Manufacturers. In reply to another question, the Union Minister said that there were no reports of concealment of deaths by the state and union territory governments.

There is no report of concealment of death by the State / UT Government.

Dr. Pawar said there were no reports of deaths being concealed by the states / UT governments. But some states have revised their figures based on the death toll. States were advised to properly prepare their own data with respect to dates and districts in order to get a proper picture of the epidemic.

Huge crowds of people despite new charges with new attractions, rising demand to ease prices at Science City.

A number of events have been started at Science City, Ahmedabad for the benefit of the people and especially the children. It was inaugurated by PM Modi 2 days ago. Due to which a huge rush of people has been seen. So the entry has been banned within 4 hours. On the other hand, people are also demanding lower fees.

The Science City has created an aquatic gallery that people can see abroad, a nature park and a robotic gallery for children to use. It was inaugurated by PM Modi 2 days ago. So the admission for the public was started from Saturday. So Science City is blooming on both Saturday and Sunday.Admission is started at 8 am but as the influx of people increases, the entry ban is being forced at 12 noon. At present, only 1000 people are being admitted every day due to Kovid.

During the Corona era, people stopped moving around. Now people are happy to have this kind of aquatic gallery and robotic gallery in the city and are reaching out to visit the world of science. But people are a little bothered by the charge that is being levied.

Because if a person visits all the places inside, the charge is around Rs 5,000. So if 4 people come for a family visit, it will cost around Rs 12,000. In such circumstances, a visit to Science City is not possible for a common man. On the other hand, there is a demand for a nominal fee for school children.

People say that if the government really wants to increase the interest in science among children, then the professional charge that is being levied on children and students should be removed.

News of relief / now cheap home cooking, no tension of rising price of LPG.

News of relief / now cheap home cooking, no tension of rising price of LPG.

LPG means rising cooking gas has ruined people's kitchen budgets. Rising petrol-diesel prices on the one hand and LPG prices on the other are skyrocketing. The price of an LPG cylinder in Delhi is Rs 843. But here we will tell you about some of the options that can help you get rid of expensive LPG.

Electricity is cheaper than LPG

LPG is much cheaper compared to an electric cooker, induction or electric stove. While PNG (piped natural gas) is also getting about 60 per cent cheaper than LPG. According to Deepak Sriramkrishnan, associate director at the World Resource Institute, electric cooking is now cheaper in Delhi than LPG.

Low cost electric stove

In Delhi, the rate of electricity is Rs 8 per unit while the price of a gas cylinder is Rs 843. In such a case, LPG of Rs 10.15 is used to boil 10 liters of water and if it is heated on an electric stove, electricity of Rs 9.46 is consumed. This way you can save a lot of money. Also note the states in which electricity subsidies are being given. There it will also cost less.

LPG cylinder price hiked by Rs 140 in 6 months

It may be noted that the price of LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs 140 in the last six months to Rs 843 per cylinder. In addition, in the year 2020, the government ended the subsidy given on LPG. Because of this customers have to pay almost the full price. Such a situation is having a profound effect on the pockets of consumers.

 PNG will benefit

Rising prices of LPG have pushed for an alternative to PNG. Customers will be attracted to it. After the increase in the price of LPG, the price difference between LPG and PNG has increased. Compared to the calorie level, PNG is now 60 per cent cheaper than LPG. But if we talk about facilities, it is not possible for PNG gas to reach more and more people at present.

Big News / RBI puts a rock on MasterCard! Bank can't issue debit and credit cards, now what about customers?

Big News / RBI puts a rock on MasterCard! Bank can't issue debit and credit cards, now what about customers?

The central bank, the RBI, on Wednesday took a major step towards issuing new debit and credit cards by banks and microfinance companies. RBI has banned the issuance of MasterCard. The bank can no longer issue Master Debit and Credit Cards to new or old customers. The RBI's decision will take effect on July 22.

The Reserve Bank had issued a circular in April 2018 ordering this. Accordingly, every online payment company had to create a facility where its data is stored in India. Since when has that six-month period expired? Despite repeated warnings to MasterCard since then, it has not complied with Indian government rules. Earlier in April, the RBI had also banned American Express and Diners Club International cards.

In fact, the debit and credit cards issued by banks are made by companies. One of them is MasterCard Asia / Pacific PTI Limited (MasterCard). The central bank RBI has taken action against the company. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday banned MasterCard Asia / Pacific Pte Ltd from involving new domestic debit, credit or prepaid customers on its card network from July 22.

According to the RBI, the company has violated RBI rules on payment method data storage. So the RBI has decided to rock MasterCard. This has been imposed under Rock Payment Section 17 and Settlement System Act 2007.

The case of MasterCard is also somewhat similar to Twitter. Just as Twitter is a foreign company and used to be an arena for Indian law enforcement, MasterCard has not complied with the law. The Reserve Bank says MasterCard has not complied with the offer despite ample time and repeated offers. MasterCard is a payment system operator. Which is authorized to operate the card network in the country. As per RBI circular on payment system data storage dated April 6, 2018, all system providers were instructed that complete details regarding these cash transactions managed by you should be saved in India within six months.

MasterCard Inc. is an American multinational company. It provides credit and debit cards worldwide. MasterCard has developed a credit-debit card system for various banks and financial institutions.

How will customers be affected?

The bank cannot issue a new MasterCard after the RBI's decision. However, the Reserve Bank has made it clear that the old MasterCard will continue. This clearly means that all debit and credit card services will continue as before. They will not be affected.
