The era of lockdown is back in India. In the wake of increasing cases of Corona and Omicron in the country, the state governments have now started enforcing Corona sanctions on their own. So far most of the states have implemented night curfew but for the first time one state has decided to implement lockdown. For the first time in the country, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to implement a total lockdown on Sunday. A meeting chaired by CM MK Stalin decided on night curfew and lockdown. Night curfew will be in force in the state from 10 pm to 5 am. The order issued by the state government said that people could not go to religious places on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Besides, restaurants, malls and shops cannot be opened during this time.
Total lockdown on Sunday, January 9
Tamil Nadu CM Stalin said the night lockdown would be effective from January 6 from 10 pm to 5 am and the flower lockdown on January 9, i.e. Sunday.
Public transport and metro will not run during this time. The state government has also banned food delivery. The order issued by the state government also said that 100 people were allowed to attend the wedding and only 50 people to attend the funeral.
The government has imposed a complete ban on private or public celebrations of the upcoming Pongal festival. The state government has ordered collectors to relocate the local fish market to avoid congestion. However, the government has allowed walking along the coast.
- The restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
