Great opportunity to buy a new car, the government is providing amazing facility, know the details
The Delhi government is continuously taking several steps to reduce air pollution in the state. The government is coming up with different policies to promote electric vehicles. Now the government has recently come up with a scheme under which state government employees will be able to buy electric two-wheelers on equal monthly installments (EMIs). The government has more than two lakh employees in the national capital.
The government is considering partnering with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited, to provide electric two-wheelers to its employees, an official said. Two-wheelers account for two-thirds of all new vehicle registrations in Delhi. The government believes that switching this segment to electric mode could help bring about significant change.
Employees will have this option
Government employees will be encouraged by their department to purchase electric two wheelers. They will have the option to pay in advance or choose EMI, which will be deducted from their salary. Another official said, "The scheme will encourage the general public to adopt such vehicles while overcoming the psychological barriers related to cost and technology."
The EV policy includes e-cycles
The Delhi government is making efforts to switch to electric vehicles to reduce air pollution. Last week, the government announced a major plan to move forward by including e-cycles in EV policy. The first 10,000 electric bicycle buyers will receive an incentive to purchase up to ₹ 5,500, while the first 1,000 will receive an additional 2,000 incentive.
The policy for aggregators was implemented in February
In February, the government issued a draft policy mandating all aggregators and delivery service providers to include electric vehicles in their new fleet. Under this, cab aggregators and delivery service providers will have to ensure that 10 percent of their new two-wheelers and five percent of new four-wheelers are electric in the first three months. They will also have to ensure that by March 2023, 50 percent of their new two-wheelers and 25 percent of new four-wheelers will be electric.
