Drama at Rajpipla Government Hospital: Students were made patients and false saline bandages were also applied to show the number of patients.
- Inspection by health department team before approval of medical college leads to 'Munnabhai MBBS' scenes
- During the inspection by the officials, the civil authorities exposed the trick of showing the nursing college students as dummy patients.
After the only civil hospital in Narmada district was affiliated to GMERS, before sanctioning the medical college, it has been revealed that the civil authorities played a trick of showing nursing college students as dummy patients during the inspection by health department officials. As aware citizens have exposed this game of the civil authorities, the authorities have come into a defensive posture.
The more than 100 years old civil hospital at Rajpipla has been shifted to the premises of the Ayurvedic College, one kilometer away from the present hospital. Apart from this, the Civil Hospital has been affiliated with the Gujarat Medical and Research Center (GMERS). This step of the state government will increase the reputation of the civil hospital but before this the hospital has come into controversy due to a gimmick of the authorities. Rajpipla's Civil Hospital will also now be known as GMERS Hospital affiliated to the Medical College.
Before sanctioning the medical college to the civil hospital, a team of top officials of the health department came for an inspection of the civil hospital in Rajpipla. The authorities made a big play to show that patients are coming to the new civil hospital and are receiving advanced treatment. It has been revealed that as many as 29 students of a nursing college near Jitnagar have been admitted to the hospital by pretending to be patients. These students were admitted to beds as patients in different wards. The incident at the Civil Hospital reminded me of the movie Munnabhai MBBS. In this film, the doctors were fake along with the patients, whereas in Rajpipla's Civil, the doctors were real but the patients were fake.
The bandage on the arm was removed and the syringe was not found
When admitted to the hospital, patients are given a special type of syringe to inject or bottle. Calling the ward nurse on duty and telling her to remove the bandage, everyone complained that there was only a decorative bandage on their hands and there was no needle in the venous flow.
The age of the patients admitted to the surgical ward is the same
The age of the young patients admitted to the female surgical ward of the Civil Hospital was found to be similar. On questioning these patients, he said that they are students of Jitnagar Government Nursing School. He did not answer why he was admitted here. Similarly, the 10 girls admitted in the ENT ward were of the same age and were also students of a nursing school. The details of 8 patients being dummies in male surgical ward and orthopedic ward have also come out.
Nursing students were called for training
The matter of dummy patients in civil hospital has been fabricated. As the hospital was currently being moved from one building to another, nursing students were called in to help. Apart from this, the students were also made to lie on the bed as they were being trained on how to treat the patients. - Dr. Jyoti Gupta, Civil Surgeon, Rajpipalanvi Civil Hospital has a capacity of 150 beds.
The old civil hospital in Rajpipla had a capacity of 80 beds but since the building is 103 years old, the hospital has been shifted to a new location. The capacity of the new civil hospital has been increased to 150 beds. More than 150 patients were also shown in the OPD to show the team from Gandhinagar that patients are coming to the hospital.
