Aadhaar Scam: Aadhaar card is an important document for every Indian citizen. UIDAI, the Aadhaar-creating body, has been constantly warning users about Aadhaar-related scams on social media. Recently, the government issued a message warning people about sharing Aadhaar documents online through WhatsApp and email.
The government does not send messages on email or WhatsApp
In its current post on Twitter X, UIDAI clarified that the government never asks for POI Proof of Identity or POA Proof of Address documents through email or WhatsApp for Aadhaar update.
Scam warning
UIDAI tweeted, '#BewareOfFraudsters. UIDAI never asks you to attach documents on WhatsApp or email to update your #Aadhaar. Updating your Aadhaar online through #MyAadhaarPortal or at the nearest Aadhaar Centres.'
Adhaar Scam is on the rise
Fraudsters get the details of their Aadhaar card numbers by tricking people into their conversations. Fraudsters are misusing this information. UIDAI and RBI are constantly asking people to be aware to warn people from all these scams.
